MECC Joins to Celebrate the Bastille Day 2026

The Macau European Chamber of Commerce (MECC) was honoured to join and witness this year’s remarkable Bastille Day 2026 celebration at Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 on 14 July, beautifully hosted by Alliance Française de Macao.

The evening carried a special significance, marking the conclusion of the successful four-year tenure of the Consulat Général de France à Hong Kong et Macao, Mrs. Christile Drulhe, alongside Economic Counsellor Mr. Philippe Baudry and Business France Director Mr. Bertrand Quevremont. It was a true privilege to celebrate these flourishing bilateral ties alongside our national chamber member, the France Macau Chamber of Commerce (FMCC).

In her inspiring address, Mrs. Drulhe highlighted how France remains Macau’s leading foreign trading partner, spanning luxury craftsmanship to world-class gastronomy. She also emphasized the growing momentum in academic and scientific research—notably through the "Linfa" joint research scheme—and celebrated the upcoming expansion of Alliance Française in 2027 to nurture international talent in support of Macau’s "1+4" economic diversification strategy.

As Mrs. Drulhe prepares to pass the torch, MECC expresses our profound appreciation to her and her dedicated team for their unwavering collaboration in strengthening European-Macau relations. We send our warmest wishes to Mrs. Drulhe, Mr. Baudry, and Mr. Quevremont for smooth transitions and immense success in their next prestigious chapters!
